I trained with Andrew James of the Practitioners School of Reflexology at West Middlesex University Hospital and qualified in 2006. I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists.
I first discovered reflexology through a friend who recommended I try a session for chronic back ache. I was so impressed with the treatment, I decided to train as a reflexologist myself. I had a number of treatments for infertility and had reflexology treatments during my pregnancy.
I have two young children, who regularly receive a relaxing foot massage.
I decided to set up a mobile reflexology practice, as a client, I found it more relaxing to be in the comfort of your own home. With ever increasing busy lifestyles, it is nice not to have to worry about getting to and from your appointment - you can then relax afterwards without having the stress of getting home.
Since graduating, I have completed the following CPD courses to further my knowledge and understanding and I also regularly attend area meetings.
"Foot Observation Skills Workshop" - Angela Telford : July 2015
"Around the Spine" - Peter Frandsen and Dorthe Krogsgaard : September 2013;
" Introduction to Fertility" - Tracey Smith and Sally Earlham : March 2013;
"Reflexology for Pregnancy" - Susanne Enzer : September 2011
This Continuing Professional Development not only keeps the therapist up-to-date with current techniques, but adds to the knowledge required to adapt treatments to the clients' needs.
